Common First-Time Questions
Will waxing hurt?
Some brief discomfort is normal, especially during your first few appointments. Knowing how to make waxing less painful can help you prepare and feel more comfortable. With a regular schedule, hair often becomes finer, so the procedure may feel easier over time.
Do I need to undress?
You only need to uncover the area being treated. For bikini waxing, you’ll undress from the waist down. For underarms, arms, or legs, you can usually stay dressed as long as your clothing leaves the treatment area accessible.
What if I’m sweaty?
That’s completely normal, especially in Florida’s climate. Your esthetician will always cleanse the skin before the procedure, so all you need to do is relax and let us take care of the rest.
What happens during intimate waxing?
You’ll lie on the treatment table, and your esthetician will guide you on when and how to adjust your position so they can comfortably reach each area. Hair is removed in small sections while the skin is kept taut to help reduce discomfort. If you feel uncomfortable or need a break, just let your esthetician know.
How long does the appointment take?
Most waxing appointments take about 20–30 minutes. The exact time depends on the treatment area and how much hair is being removed, and we can give you a more precise estimate when you book.

Consultation
Before we begin, we’ll discuss your skin sensitivity, any medications you’re taking, and your previous waxing experience. If you’re nervous or have any questions, you can bring them up with your esthetician right away.
Cleansing & Preparation
Your esthetician will cleanse and dry the skin to remove sweat, lotion residue, and other impurities before applying the wax.
Wax Application
Your esthetician will apply the wax to the prepared skin in the treatment area.
Hair Removal
Your esthetician will work in small sections, keeping the skin taut to help reduce discomfort. They’ll guide you into the most comfortable position, and you can ask for a break at any time if needed.
Soothing Finish
Once the hair has been removed, your esthetician will apply a soothing product selected with your skin sensitivity in mind.
Aftercare Briefing
At the end of your appointment, your esthetician will explain how to care for your skin during the first 48 hours, including when you can return to workouts, what to avoid, and how to protect the treated area from the sun.
Medical Safety & Contraindications
Your skin integrity is our priority. Please review these restrictions before booking:
Strictly Prohibited
We cannot perform services if you have used Accutane (Isotretinoin) in the last 12 months. Waxing on Accutane-treated skin can cause severe skin lifting. We also do not treat areas with active sunburns, cold sores, or infections.

Retinoids: Stop using Retin-A, Retinol, or chemical peels in the treatment area at least 7 days prior.
Medical Conditions: Inform us if you have unmanaged diabetes, lupus, or are taking blood thinners.
Normal Skin Reactions vs. Risks
Mild redness and sensitivity are normal and subside within 24–48 hours. However, improper aftercare in our humid climate can lead to folliculitis or hyperpigmentation. Our protocols are designed to minimize these risks, but client compliance with aftercare is essential.

The Florida Waxing Pre & Post-Care Protocol
Before Your Appointment
Good preparation for waxing starts with the right hair length. Let it grow to about 1/4 inch (6 mm), and avoid shaving or trimming it yourself before your appointment. Let your esthetician know if you use retinol or other retinoids, or if you take isotretinoin, as these may affect whether waxing is appropriate for you. Do not stop any prescribed medication without speaking with your healthcare provider.
The First 48 Hours After Waxing
Avoid hot baths, saunas, and friction. Choose loose-fitting clothing. Skip intense workouts. Avoid pools, the beach, and tanning for 48 hours. Protect any exposed treated areas with SPF 30+.
Care Between Appointments
Moisturize daily with a fragrance-free product. Once all redness and sensitivity have completely subsided, add gentle exfoliation. Avoid harsh scrubs. Do not squeeze or pick at ingrown hairs. If they occur regularly, discuss your skincare routine with your esthetician. If an ingrown hair becomes painful or inflamed, see a dermatologist.

Can I get waxed during my period?

Can I wax over a tattoo?
Yes, as long as the skin is fully healed and there is no irritation or peeling. Wax removes hair from the skin’s surface and does not affect the pigment in a healed tattoo.
